Finally, what’s with the “most other manga here can be found translated by other groups”? We’re the only group doing all of the projects here with the exception of DNAngel. That’s just our policy, and it’s not fair for the fans of the other series to try to push us toward a Slayers dominated site rather than focusing on the projects we want to.

I’m happy to say that you guys have the cleanest, nicest scanlations of D.N.Angel…also, you guys spell check, which makes me very happy…

I’m curious, who else is doing D.N.Angel? I know there’s a girl called Innoc3nt-Sorrow, but she really likes your scans, and uses the Chinese scans. The only reason she does this is so fans can get a good idea of what’s happening quicker. I’ve talked to her, and we both agree that your scans are the nicest. ^_^

I’m confused about the “lack of interest” statement as well. Didn’t the last poll you all had up prove the HUGE interest in the Slayers SEDS series? Not to mention that most other manga here can be found translated by other groups, but nobody else is translating Slayers stuff (mainly due to lack of raws). That basically makes you all the “go-to” group for all Slayers Scans. If nothing else, would you mind uploading the SEDS and other Slayers raws so that another group might be able to pick it up if you do drop it (and I know it’s tentative)?

The poll you mentioned was split with half of the voters wanting us to do 1-7 of SEDS and the other half full-out not caring. I’ll also note that the poll was biased (hence it was taken down) because people were crossposting it to Slayers forums to get votes. I already stated that we will be doing the entire 8th volume, but 1-7 we either won’t do or we’ll have them low priority. I know you don’t have access to the raw statistics, but SEDS is one of our lowest ranking release days, along with Aqualord. Neither series will be dropped entirely (well, okay, SEDS may be dropped after 8th, but we haven’t decided yet), so I’ll repeat this one more time: Rebmastu is only taking a break from them because she is burned out. Some people are neglecting to realize that she does this primarily to practice her Japanese, and going over the same vanilla text over and over again isn’t helping her get any better. It’s to get used to a variety of writing styles, so I wish you all would stop hounding her about it. She’ll be picking at least Aqualord back up after a little while, so I don’t see what all the fuss is about.

Instead, however, prior to this announcement, I was gonna ask if you guys had any plans to translate the other new Slayers manga (Hourglass) at all or anytime soon, but now I’m going to assume based on the comments, the short answer would be “No”. However, if that was a considered project, I, for one, would LOVE to read it… as there is no English media to date with Luke and Milina in it. I wanna get to know those characters better!

Actually, the funny thing about Hourglass is that it’s on our OH HELL YES list. We were actually importing Legends to do this, but when we found that the volume release date was so soon, we decided to instead wait for that to be released and we could get super HQ scans out.

As for the Slayers series, it’s a little more complicated. Of course we intend to finish Aqualord (both of us being big fans), but the problem is actually with Tommy Ohtsuka’s drawing style, or rather, editing it. He has this horrible habit when doing two-page spreads, where he actually neglects to draw in large portions of the picture on each page, making it really difficult to make an appealing edit job. It’s really just a hard one to do.

The bigger problem, of course, is Revolution. Both of us were really nuts for the quirky style of it at first, but Rebmastu’s been irritated (and complaining a lot) by the irritating stock dialogue. This bleeds through a little in this chapter, but because it’s a fight scene it’s alright, I guess =P There’s no point in dropping it right now either, since we’re at the end of the arc. I think the biggest factor will be in whether the continuation will be a new series or not, or if it’s picked up by fansubbers. So who knows.

Light Magic is just awesome. Seriously. It’s another one that’s on a pseudo-on-hold thing until the volume comes out. Just awesometastic.
