Yet another late-night-ish release from us lazy bastards. Gawrsh. Hey, at least these deadlines keep us accountable! I kinda wanted to churn out a chapter of Mebius for this week’s release, but, well…. I guess that’s gonna have to wait for next time.

First up, new chapter of Datenroku! This one is RELENTLESS. So many revelations this time around, some we could have guessed, others perhaps not so much. One thing’s for sure, the scene between Rei and Gendou in this chapter is so bitterly climactic and emotionally charged that it’s made my favorite scene of the series. Read it and you’ll see why. Props to RainStride, as always, for his editing, and Melfra at QC.

Second we have the promised HQ re-release of volume 1 (specifically, chapters 1 and 2) of Barajou! I’ve gone through and touched up a lot of the dialogue and corrected some translations for the entire first volume (including Anis’s name), so if you haven’t done it recently, maybe now’s a good time to re-visit it? Besides, volume one’s easily the best of them all. (Or maybe tied with volume 2?) Editing by the multi-talented Melfra, who also runs a mean scanning bed. Yes, she will fark your shite up, don’t even.

We said a while ago that we’d be picking Datenroku back up once we got a few more staff members and guess what? WE DID. Thanks to the glorious RainStride and Zippy, WE HAVE NEW DATENROKU.

Only not.

Instead we have volume 1 with a COMPLETELY re-hauled translation, so it’s pretty much as close to new as you can get, because a lot of things have changed this time around. (Chapter 4 in particular – that one’s like a completely different beast now. I hang my head in shame.) So if it’s been a long time since you last read it, you can go hit up the new reader and at least check this volume out.

THERE, YA HAPPY!? We’re gonna zip on forward to volume 4 to wrap the series up in the near future and fix volumes two and three sometime in the meantime. (Volume 2 might come before volume 4, just because volume 2′s been scanned in and volume 4 hasn’t, but that has yet to be seen.)

On a related note, this series has been licensed by Dark Horse and is slated to be released sometime this fall, so you guys better go out and buy that, dammit. Because Dark Horse’s quality is like, homg GODLY. (Just don’t compare the translations, ‘kay? I’d… I’d cry.)

Where am I, and what are all you people doing here!?

I keeed. Anyway, Reb here, figured I’d stop by and give everyone a heads-up on what kind of progress we’ve been making with our projects around here, new and old alike.

First off, Barajou no Kiss! As you can probably tell by the header (♥), volume one is officially OUT! What does this mean for you? New chapters, and HELLA FAST! I won’t give an exact timeline, but it’ll probably be waaaay sooner than you think. x3 On that note, the volume came with romanizations for the main cast and their names…. Specifically, Agnes is no longer Agnes – she is now “Anis!” ……………………YEAH, ABOUT THAT. Methinks Shouoto-sensei forgot an “E” in there. =X Either way, we’ll be calling her “Anise” from now on, sorry about the confusion. x3 Also, we have an official English title! Barajou no Kiss is now “Kiss of [the] Rose Princess!” Yeah, we’ll be adding a “the” in there, as well.

Secondly, I’ve been working non-stop on Slayers: Hourglass of Falces for some time, so we hope to have the first chapter out in short order.

Evangelion: Gakuen Datenroku will be moving to a volume-only release after the end of the Iruel arc. What does this mean for you, the readers? For one, we won’t be working off of Asuka’s terrible page quality, so no more monthly releases. Instead, we’ll be waiting until the full volume is released (which will be in about four months for us) and release A WHOLE BUNCH OF CHAPTERS at a time. This makes it easier for me to translate as well; since I’ll be able to read a whole bunch in advance, I won’t have to guess at a bunch of vague dialogue. In other words, BETTER TRANSLATION QUALITY! Again, we won’t be moving to a volume-only release until Iruel’s arc is over. On that note, what will we be doing with Datenroku in the meantime? About that…. Well, I’m embarrassed to admit that the first few chapters were riddled with translation errors on my half (just look at how the first chapter contradicts with recent events!), so I’ll be going back and re-doing the series from the volume scans. Yippee, quality!

And the burning question I’m sure everyone is asking themselves….. Peas and rice, TP, why the HELL haven’t you released anything lately!?
