FREAK OUT! Despite consistently, um… flagging interest in the series, I’ll hold on to this one to my dying breath, if only for Maria’s absolute ferocity. Fortunately, it seems we were cosmically blessed to hold off on this chapter before the hiatus (read: I forgot we had it done), so this chapter drops us right into a new arc instead of picking up the pieces from some… other one. This right here was more or less the reason for my hiatus from translating. (Well, part of it.) I churned it out, submitted it for QC, started applying the changes, and… I hated it. I suffered so much embarrassment from the script that I had to put it away for months before I could stand even looking at it long enough to overhaul the translation, and overhaul I did. I hope the care is evident and y’all enjoy it. Edited! By the dashing Egotist! (join the fanclub; you’ll never regret it!) Translated and typeset! Yours truly! I wonder how I can get in on that?” THE ANSWER IS HERE, MY FRIENDS. RIGHT HERE. If you want to read the Slayers from a manga perspective, THIS is where you start. Right here! Chapter one! Ahhhh, STILL SPAZZING. GOD, I LOVE LINA. Y’all have no idea. But anyway! This chapter was edited by Tom the Mighty, typeset by ZippyZippy, translated by yours truly, and scanned and QC’d by Melfra! GIVE THANKS, FOR SLAYERS HAS RETURNED TO TURTLE PARADISE. The read online links will be up tomorrow! Also, in the interest of preserving our usual quality, I’ve taken down our previous translation work on volume 8. It’ll take us a while to get there, of course, but I’d like to redo that volume to meet our current standards.

A few quick announcements, which I’ll keep brief here in the interest of letting you guys get to the good stuff without being bogged down by information overload– firstly, we’re back! Hurray! We, ah, originally had quite a few releases planned for today, but I was hell-bent and determined to release something on Monday, and our east-coast friends will surely note that I’m cutting it a little close. Woops! But we’re moving back to a Monday release schedule, so check back in next week for even more of the stuff you know and love, and maybe even a few things you might have forgotten. Also, oneshots are now on the reader, so go check those out if you haven’t already!

As for why the hiatus, well… Shite hit the fan for me November of last year (it always hits around November, doesn’t it?), and without going into the gory details, I had to take a sabbatical to take care of my mother, and I found that my mood was affecting my translations and the quality of our work in a bad way, so I decided to take a break until I was sure I could separate the two. I tried to ease myself into the process for this year’s Twelve Days event and that, uh… almost worked, but not quite. So fast-forward four months and here we are, hopefully refreshed enough to take on the challenges of scanlating once again. To anyone who’s applied for a position in the meantime and I callously ignored, please accept my apologies. Like I said, I disappeared from basically everything but Twitter and Tumblr.

And that’s enough of that, I think! Look forward to a mega-release next week to make up for the spartan quality of this one. For the moment, we’re looking at Mebius Gear, Junketsu Kareshi, a visit from an old series, and a handful of one shots, SO GET PUMPED, Y’ALL. WE’RE CELEBRATING IN STYLE.

Two things to note about this doujinshi: First, don’t be daunted by the “Adults Only” note on the cover– damn thing’s a typo; second, while this IS the third entry in this doujinshi series (yep, breaking my own rules about doing series out of order…), the other two are ostensibly deserving of the “Adults Only” label. Not that a lil’ thing like that’d ever get in the way of me doing it, but alas, not having the scans DOES. So if you ever stumble across anyone selling parts one and two, or if you yourself have them and would like to get rid of them (or mail them off to us to scan!), you know where we are~

Anyway, the story takes part during/after the bonus chapter in volume three of Full Moon, so as long as you’ve read the full series anyway, you’ll have all the background information you need.
