Now, as if anyone gave a hoot about what I think, it occurred to me while this chapter was in QC that people reading this who may not be familiar with the Wild ARMs series might see the usage of the word “ARM” here in context and be a little confused. The definition of ARM is usually spelled-out in context in whatever entry of the series the term appears, but for some reason, it isn’t really defined here in the manga. In this case, an ARM is a gun; not an arm as in the limb, as, uh, the concern voiced in the QC process for this chapter. Anywho. I’m still not sure if all firearms are ARMs in this series or what, but it’s pretty significant that the new baddie has one and other people know it. END OF LESSON, ENJOY YOUR NEW CHAPTER.

Jeeze, when’s the last time we released so much in two weeks? That’s right, Turtle friends, WE’RE STILL BACK! And once again, Midterms serve their purpose as the best motivator around, as any collegiate will tell you– as a vehicle for procrastination, free rides for all! On that note, I realize it seems unfair to release more chapters of a series which has already received recent attention in the face of so many other neglected projects, but this one bears other… motivating factors for the team. That said, we’re back with your favorite Vampire Boyfriend. No, no, not THAT one. The one with Vampires (uh), Werewolves (are you sure this is a different one?), Tengu (okay, now we’re getting somewhere), and… Angels? WELL WHO WOULD HAVE SEEN THAT COMING.

First off, chapter 13! We’re coming fresh off the climax of chapter 12 where Cana gets twinked out, and this time around we get to see the effects in action, and, just so you know, it’s pretty. Freakin’. Sweet. Editing this time around by c0de_da1sy, QC’d by Melfra, and typeset and translation by yours truly. Be sure to take a quick look at the translation notes either before you read or after you finished, because the first two pages don’t make a lick of sense otherwise.

Second up is (gasp!) chapter 14! So soon!? That’s right! We’re working through the backlog at breakneck speed– 15 hasn’t even hit shelves in Japan yet! Since you might not have read chapter 13 by this point, anything I could say as a preview might be a spoiler of sorts for the preceding chapter, but I will say that this one blows 13 out of the water in terms of cool-factor. This chapter sees the (temporary?) revival of the Melfra/Rebmastu double-whammy DREEEAAAAAM TEEAAAAAM with Melly laying the SMACK DOWN with editing, RIPPING UP PIXELS as she scanned that bad-boy in, and CORRECTING MY GRAMMARS on the QC front, with me pulling typesetting and translation duty with my nerdy glasses on. (MELLY’S THE FLASHY ONE.)

We’ve got a few more chapters in the QC pile to work through, so release rates should be picking up for the time being. Boy, this is all kinds of exciting! So lately I’ve been caught up reading the Wheel of Time series. I won’t say it’s the best ever with the same drooling fanaticism that some of our crew would claim (NANNERS. MELLY.), but it IS enjoyable as hell when the characters aren’t fawning over one another. But that’s neither here nor there – we’re here to talk about MANGA, and today, we deliver — count ‘em! — not one, but TWO releases for your reading pleasure, both of which have been an eternity in the making (due in no small part to my own procrastination and preoccupations OTL), but hey. You don’t want to hear me rant. You want to READ COMICS.

Where we last left off, Kizuna and Yuki had made up about their past, uh… transgressions, inasmuch as two people who weren’t even really fighting to begin with can make-up, and Kizuna leaves us with the thought that, “Boy howdy, do I wish I could figure out how to make Asai not so bloody irked at me.” And then it starts raining. The question is, what next? ENTER THIS CHAPTER. Editing duty pulled this time around by c0de_da1sy, with QC magic in deft command by Melfra and Clov3r. Translation and typesetting (and the majority of delays OTL) by yours truly.

And yet another fans have been clamoring for, Barajou 30! Where we last left off in THIS one, Idel and Anis had a hardcore bromance moment that made me ship them pretty friggin’ hard. Sorry for the delay in, uh… everything, folks. School’s been pretty rough for most of us ever since the new semester started up, and it’s taking us all some time to get acclimated to our new schedules.

ANYWAY! To start catching us up on some delayed projects, first, have some Junketsu Kareshi! You’ll notice some changes with the translation within the first few pages with a certain character’s name, and the translation notes will explain a little more about it. But for those of you who want to go into the story without feeling lost, the official romanization of “Kana’s” name has been revealed as “Cana,” according to the very end of chapter one in the volume release. (Yeeahhh, we’ll get to that eventually, too.) Check the translation notes for more info, skillets.

So Melly’s and my copy of Carnival Phantasm finally came in the other day, and between watching the delicious, delicious blue-ray about three times, drooling over the commentary, and lusting over the gorgeous artbook that came with it, it occurred to me that the Internet has been experiencing a decided dearth of awesome lately, especially when it came to A) Explosions, and B) OUTER SPACE. (Of which Carnival Phantasm has both.) And so I, quite arbitrarily, decided that the entire Internet needed a double-dose of Lost Universe, and it COULD. NOT. WAIT.

At least, it’d be cool if that’s how it went… But alas. Embellishment for the sake of dramatic effect is ofttimes more interesting than the truth itself. (Ofttimes because reality is boring. In which case, it is the gun-powder of second-hand stories. But this is all common sense! Why am I saying these things!? And why, for the love of all that is good and holy, am I still using parentheses!?)

Getting back on topic, we now bring you not only chapter 13 of Lost Universe (which wraps up volume 2), but 14 as well– And that, for anyone following the news, is one people have been waiting on for the better part of almost seven and a half years.

Anis is pretty much the closest thing you can get to Gar in a girly comic series, as far as I’m concerned. I WILL HEAR NO OTHER OPINIONS ON THIS MATTER.

If you’re one of the few who dropped Barajou because it didn’t seem to be going anywhere, now’s a good time to pick it back up. Starting with this chapter, we’re plunging headlong into an arc that’s still ongoing in the magazine (as of ch. 36), and it’s BRICK-SHITTING AWESOME, JSYK. I would also like to state for the record that I would bag Itsushi in a New York minute, and Schwartz too, for that matter. You guys can fight over everybody else.

Well. Didn’t manage to release this on the fourth like we said we would, the fifth like we said we would, or the sixth like we said we would, and then I slipped up and posted this Friday instead of saving it for later. (And the chapter wasn’t even done at that point!) I shouldn’t even say “We” at this point, since it was me responsible for all the bork-ups.

This is me, failing all over the place.

Anywho. We’ll spread the love to other series (aside from Shouoto’s, that is) pretty soon here, no worries. Both of our typesetters are on a well-deserved vacation (one willing, one not-so-much, lawl. SEE BELOW), so say HAY ZIPPY, HAY KAORI, BRING ME SOME GODDAMN COCONUTS.
