Thought I might as well make this in honor of our new project though no one really uses these discussion threads sob.

First thing I thought of while reading this was how Sakuya would make a great basketball player. *cough* I couldn't have been the only person who thought this.

Like so.

And, no, this wasn't really taken at 3AM; for some strange reason, my computer clock is all wonky and changes times by itself... no idea how to fix it.

Anime & Manga discussion / Webcomics!
« on: September 08, 2011, 08 AM »
I know it's technically not manga, but I thought this would be the best place to post, so...

Who else here loves webcomics? I know I do! :DDD If you've never read any webcomics before or are just looking for recs here are a few of my favorites to get ya started:

Fungus Grotto - Sorta on hiatus :c
Boxer Hockey
Cucumber Quest
Johnny Wander - This one's an autobiographical comic-- most of the stuff they draw are random things that have happened in their life.
Prague Race (This one's just beginning, and it's drawn by one of my favorite artists. She also made The Adventures of Dentistman and Dragonboy, though it's not really an official webcomic. It's still awesome, though. :D)
Cheese in the Trap - A Korean webcomic (or as they're called in Korea, "webtoons") about a normal college student and the strange relationship she forms with a rather suspicious upperclassman. I like this one 'cuz it's got a strong female lead, and it's really down-to-earth. No wacky romance whatsoever. Anyway, the link leads to the Korean site where it's hosted. I believe Webtoon Live used to scanlate it, but the author wanted them to stop 'cuz it took traffic away from the site (all Naver webtoon artists are paid by Naver for making their comics) WL took 'em down from their site, but I think certain online readers still have the English scanlations up. The translations for chapters that came after they stopped scanlating are on the Webtoon Live forums. If anything, I can always translate it for you guys or something.

So what are some of your favorite webcomics? COMMENCE DISCUSSIONS!

Which one looks better?

I just blurred the left pic in a hurry, so if I do blur it, it'll look better. Also, if anyone has tips on coloring metal, I would greatly appreciate it if you shared. :'D

General Discussion / The Thread of Useless Information

"In Hong Kong, a betrayed wife is legally allowed to kill her adulterous husband, but may only do so with her bare hands. The husband's lover may be killed in any manner desired."

"People in Siberia often buy milk frozen on a stick. Milk is technically considered to be a food and not a beverage. Containing almost 250 chemical compounds, it is the most complex food on earth."

"In Poland, a brewery once developed a plumbing problem in which beer was accidentally pumped into the incoming water supply. It meant that the residents of the town got free beer on tap for one day." (Is it bad that I thought of Tom when I read this?)

"The world's most expensive coffee, at $130 a pound, is called Kopi Luwak. It is in the droppings of a type of marsupial that eats only the very best coffee beans. Plantation workers track them and scoop their precious excrement."

Just a few of my favorites.

Aya Shouoto Projects / SLH Recent Chapter Discussion
« on: June 10, 2010, 02 AM »
Since Barajou has its own recent discussions thread, I thought that SLH should have one, too. >:3 And in the last chapter...
  • S-Hall wins best event in Mayfest
  • Hiyoki rooms with the Student Council Treasurer, Minemitsu Yamashina
  • Through one of of Yamashina's dreams, Hiyoki finds out that S-Hall might be demolished
  • Ayuma Hidaka was super cute
Now let's get discussing!

Maybe I should room with Yamashina just to have someone to push me to study harder during exam week... And speaking of Yamashina, THAT MAN HAS TOO MANY GLASSES. Makes me wonder if some of them are fake. (Come on... Sleeping glasses? -.-)

Welcome! / Grover With a Crowbar Frolicking in a Cloverfield
« on: December 04, 2009, 09 AM »
Huh. I never made one of these intro threads, yet I seem to be getting along just fine, despite what Mel's rules say in her profile.

I go by Clover, but people almost never call me that. Instead, they give me weird nicknames like Grover, Crowb4r, Cloverfield, or Clo. I think it's a tradition or strange ritual practiced here at Turtle Paradise. Or the people are just weird. Very weird. And I just MIGHT BE ONE OF THEM.

Anyway, I'mma go to bed, now.

We should start going around being obnoxious everywhere so people will go, "oh, those QCs are always crazy. It's cuz they QC"

That also means millions of animated gifs in signatures!
